FAQ
What people usually ask us.
Does it work at sea, away from the coast?
It uses the 4G mobile network, which reaches well along the coast where rental boats sail. If there's no signal at some point, the device stores the data and sends it as soon as it's back in range.
What if someone disconnects the boat's battery?
The device has its own backup battery: it keeps working and tells you the power has been cut.
Does the boat need any work done?
No. The box connects to the boat's 12 V system with its own fuse, with no holes in the hull. Door and bilge sensors are wireless and fixed with marine adhesive. We do the installation.
Do I have to change my booking software?
No. Wardcue works alongside the software you already use: you keep your bookings and invoices, and we take care of security, check-in and maintenance. You only switch on the modules you need.
Is it suitable for licence-free boats?
Yes, it's designed for them: you can set the allowed zone by licence type and get an alert if the boat leaves it.
Is there a minimum term?
No. You pay the setup fee once per boat (device and installation) and a fixed monthly fee, with no commitment. If you change plan, the device stays as it is.
Who can see my fleet's data?
Only your company and the people you give access to. Each company sees only its own boats.
